Sõel
The Sõel is an intriguing accessory which can be worn as a loop, cowl, capelette or snood. It is very airy and stretchy. The loop is worked in rounds and uses a very simple four-stitch lace repeat. Every other round is knit, so just sit back and relax. The pattern is easily adaptable in width and length. The lace pattern is written out and charted. Just one skein of that beautiful fingering-weight hand-dyed yarn laying in your stash waiting to be knit makes a wonderful infinity loop in no time worked on big needles. The pattern name Sõel comes from Estonian and means a sieve.
The sample was made using one skein of hand-dyed yarn from Little Mouse House, 4 ply Deluxe Sock, 85% merino, 15% nylon, in Bonfire colourway. Width 38 cm / 15’’ Circumference 100 cm / 40’’. Measurements are approximate due to stretchy quality of lace.
