Our Sofia Cardigan is worked top down in one piece.
Starting from neckline, after a few rows in garter stitch, we place markers and start increasing with simple yarn over stitches along raglans until we reach the desired width.
At this stage the work proceeds back and forth, working all rows in knit stitch.
Then we divide stitches and put sleeves stitches on hold and continue working the body back and forth to the desired length.
Finally, sleeves stitches are slipped on circular needles and worked in the round by regularly decreasing stitches from armpit to wrist. In this case, the garter stitch is obtained by working 1 round in knit stitch and 1 in purl stitch.
