When a client asked me to come up with a party dress for Sofie, her little Toy Yorkie, I designed this snazzy bright red number. Shortly after receiving Sofie’s dress, my client emailed me this photo. Is this not CUTE?

The other photo is a dress I made for a Crafts Fair. It’s about the same size, but I used a sequin worsted weight acrylic yarn. Sofie’s dress was completed with a plain worsted weight acrylic yarn.

The dress is a simple knit for Advanced Beginner/Intermediate knitters. The front and back sections are knitted separately and invisibly seamed together with the mattress stitch (or any stitch you prefer). It has a lovely seed stitch neckline and the body is stockinette stitch, with a double ruffled bottom edge. No sleeves are needed, since this is a fancy sleeveless party dress! Just single crochet an edging around the armholes with a crochet hook size F or G.

Your little Party Girl will look beautiful in her dress too, so give my design a try. I think you’ll have a great time knitting this dress!
