This velvet blanket uses four colors of the yarn. Once you get going, this pattern is a two row repeat. One row of single crochet and the other is alternating front post double crochet and back post double crochet worked into the stitches two rows below.

It has great texture and the stitch pattern works nicely with the velvet yarn.
