Softies are functional accessories to keep your hands warm and toasty throughout the seasons.
The mitten design includes a few shaping techniques to fit the hand and create a more elegant look.

The accessory is graded into Sizes 1 (2, 3).

Yarn:
Option 1
Galo Yarns Cashmere Blend 15 grams.
Happy Go Knitty Silk Mohair 13 grams.
(used in sample 1)

Option 2
Nutiden Puppelin 48 grams.
(used in sample 2)

Option 3
Strand (mohair & NZ wool blend) 68 grams.
Isager Silk Mohair 29 grams.
(used in sample 3)

Gauge:
26 stitches & 35 rnds = 10x10 cm (4x4 “) in stockinette with 3 mm (US 2.5) needles, after blocking.

Needles:
Suggested Sizes
2 mm (US 0) to make Italian Tubular Cast-On
2.5 mm (US 2) for 1x1 ribbing and cuffs.
3 mm (US 2.5) to knit forearm, gusset, thumb.

Samples:
Sample 1
Galo Yarns Cashmere Blend in Tuskan Yellow and a strand of Happy Go Knitty Silk Mohair in light yellow-green. Both strands of yarn are held together.
This sample is a shorter version of Size 1.

Sample 2
Nutiden Puppelin (greyish turquoise). This sample is made in Size 2.

Sample 3
Strand yarn (mohair & NZ wool blend) in colour 492 and a strand of Isager Silk Mohair in colour 62. Both strands of yarn are held together. This sample is made in Size 3.

Tools:
Needles: 2 mm (US 0), 2.5 mm (US 2), and 3 mm (US 2.5), 3 markers, waste yarn to hold thumb stitches and a tapestry needle to hide the ends.
