Sizes: newborn to aprox 4yrs.

Age range is a guide only please check the child’s head circumference for the best fit.

Newborn: Head Circumference up to 34cm. 14cm high, 13cm wide.

0-3m: Head Circumference up to 38cm. 15cm high, 14cm wide.

3-6m: Head Circumference up to 40cm. 16cm high, 15 wide.

6-12m: Head Circumference up to 45cm. 18cm high, 17cm wide.

1-2yrs: Head Circumference up to 48cm. 19 high, 18cm wide.

2-4yrs: Head Circumference up to 52cm. 20cm high 19cm wide.

Fit: Softly is a fitted style bonnet. The ages and head sizes given are an indication only, if your child is smaller or larger than the average child in their age range please make the next size up or down. Knitting by nature creates an ‘elastic’ garment so you may find your Bonnet fits for longer than the age ranges/head sizes given.

Material needed:
8ply yarn, sample uses Drops Merino extra fine hand dyed.
Meterage per size: (approximate)
Newborn: 55m, 0-3m: 61m, 3-6m: 69m 6-12m: 84m, 1-2y: 94m, 2-4y 120m

Notions:
7 stitch markers (one in a distinctive colour or design).
Darning needle.

Needles:
4mm 60cm circular needles for flat panel/neckline. For the back use magic loop method or 4mm Double Pointed needles (DPNs) or 4mm Addi Crasytrio
Needle size may vary to achieve correct gauge.

Gauge:
5cm in pattern panel = 12 sts x 13 rows.
