Sol Inca
A top-down steeked colorwork yoke cardigan (and after-thought pullover) with original sun motifs by me. Design is inspired by and dedicated to alpaca & sheep farmers of the Peruvian Highlands, the living ancestors of the Inca Empire. Sol Inca is written as a classic circular seamless yoke cardigan, but pattern includes an option to convert to an “after-thought” pullover.
Construction is worked from neckline with short rows in back for a relaxed round neck, increases through colorwork yoke, separated into body and sleeves, steek reinforced & cut, and then last button bands picked up and worked. Pattern is written for 5 sts = 1 inch in worsted weight, but includes extensive substitution chart to adapt to many gauges, from sport to bulky weight ~~ broadening size range from 26” thru 60” in some yarn weights ~~ pick from your stash or showcase your own handspun!
