Scarf 2: Knit in a stripe sequence using multiple colors across 45 stitches.
Sol LeWitt was an American artist who pioneered conceptual art. His Wall Drawings, of which he created 1,350 in 40 years, are instructions for how to create the drawings—others executed the instructions in a museum or gallery space.
Le Witt’s art focused on his ideas, not their execution. Knitting can take a similar approach: the pattern is an idea that leaves room for the individual craftperson’s interpretation.
The Sol LeWitt series of patterns comprises simple designs that use the most basic elements of knitting.
The Scarf 2 pattern includes four recipes, which use the following colors and amounts of yarn:

Yarn Required: 700 yd total; 120 yd A, 275 yd B, 170 yd C, 135 yd D
Colors: Lady Day (A), Divine (B), The Gateway (C), Vacants to Value (D)
Example 2:

Yarn Required: 810 yd total; 400 yd MC, 80 yd A, 90 yd B, 110 yd C, 90 yd D, 40 yd E

Example 4:
Yarn Required: 625 yd total; 325 yd A, 80 yd B, 80 yd C, 80 yd D, 60 yd E
