It’s amazing how the meditative practice of knitting can assist in those tumultuous times of life. The perfect knit is one that allows your thoughts to drift but not wander too far; that brings you back to a level of concentration every now and again - giving the opportunity for deep reflection but also to draw you out of that deep reflection.

Solace, with its stocking stitch and simple fair isle fits that profile perfectly. This seamless cowl is knit as a long tube, interspersed with with a chevron pattern that requires colour changes no more than five stitches apart, before being grafted end to end to complete the loop. This double sided fabric makes for a gloriously snuggly cowl.

Construction:
Solace begins with a provisional cast-on and is then knit as a long tube with the chevron pattern formed through colourwork and fair isle techniques. When completed, the end is grafted to the provisional cast-on to form a tubed loop of fabric.

Instructions for colourwork pattern is both written and charted.
