Solar System Blanket
This big blanket is worked from the center outward in a cozy worsted weight wool. The solar system is accurately scaled in Astronomical Units, and finishes with an attached garter stitch edge. This blanket is sure to keep your lap warm while you eagerly knit each section.

Finished Measurements: 60” / 1.5m diameter. Measurements taken after blocking.
Materials
900 yards worsted weight, blue or black for space
7 yards worsted weight yellow yarn for the Sun
13 pieces of scrap yarn in planet colors
4 silver beads size 6/0
Tools
US 10 (6 mm) needle in preferred style for small diameter circular knitting and in 32” (80 cm) circular. Row counter, crochet hook for cast on (Approx I-9), crochet hook for bead placement (Approx 1mm), removable stitch markers, tapestry needle.

Difficulty
This pattern includes knit stitch, increases, yarn overs and some embroidery stitches (included in stitch guide). It is suitable for most beginners :)
