“Soldian is a reef in the sound between Lerwick and Bressay, and it is also an important placename on land throughout Shetland,” explains Viveka Velupillai of Uradale Yarns. “This scarf is a celebration of the beauty of simplicity, and features our two marled undyed colours. Using simple knit, purl and slip stitches, it achieves an elegance in texture and feel.” Viveka’s scarf has been designed to use Uradale’s Jumper Weight (4ply) yarn; it can also be knitted
in a DK-weight yarn, although this will affect the size and dimensions of the scarf.
