This is a pattern for a remembrance day soldiers head and helmet, which is worked over a polystyrene male head. I used double knit yarn as it has more give in it than cotton and needs to stretch over the head to fit.
I used almost 100g for the head and 90g for the helmet. The polystyrene head measured 55 cm around the circumference.
I’ve made this pattern for a postbox topper by increasing in the round once you’ve completed the head. I then added poppies to decorate it.
