Please note: once the Petite Purls version of this sweater is offline, I will be unable to provide it to knitters or to give more than the most basic of support. However, I am working on a new, top-down version, with expanded sizing, which will be available as soon as possible.

Errata: The chart contains a few erroneous knit stitches where there should be purls. This has not yet been updated on the Petite Purls site, so I have added it as a JPEG in the photos.

This sweater has existed in my mind for years now, ever since we started taking our son hiking in the high desert of Southern California. There is a road called Soledad Canyon Road that winds through the landscape past rock and scrub. Soledad the sweater grew organically from the idea of that road, and when I discovered the perfect cable in a stitch dictionary everything just fell into place.
