Soliloquy
Soliloquy is a lightweight triangular shawl in two colours featuring an organic pattern of swirls. Soliloquy is knitted in two colours to create a gentle striping effect. However it could be just as successfully knitted in a single colour, allowing just the textural effect of the stitches to dominate.
Soliloquy is worked flat and is knitted top down from written instructions. Blocking is recommended to show the lace patterns to maximum effect.
Approximate dimensions of finished garment (after blocking) width at top edge: 210cm 83”, depth at centre of triangle: 86cm 34”.
Any very light-fingering or heavy lace weight yarn (approximately 16–17 wraps per inch). This example is Notanotherhat hand dyed, upcycled, lace-weight 100% merino.
Total yarn used: 136g = 1180m 1290yd.
MC: My opening farewell 81g = 780m 853yd
CC1: Streaming 55g = 400m 463yd
NOTE: Due to the use of upcycled yarn, each of these colours is a similar, but different, yarn. Hence the meterage per 100g is different for each colour. Please use the METERAGE rather than the weight as your guide.
