Sunshine sweater is knitted top down, starting with the neckline being knitted in the round. Then the yoke is worked with even increases so the stitches increase at the same time as the beams are created by slipping stitches between the needles. To create the beams, the stitches are slipped by placing the right needle in the back of the stitch as if to purl and move it from the left needle to the right needle with yarn in back. Each round starts at the middle of the back.

As always, it is important to figure out the correct size. The measurements tell you the size of the sweater itself, and I encourage you to look at those instead of the name of the size. As diverse as we are, we may fall in-between the given sizes. The bust mea-surement is the most important one. The length on both sleeves and body is easy to adapt to your size. Since the sweater is knitted top down it is easy to try on as you go. I recommend that you add some yarn if you prefer the sleeves or the body to be a bit longer. It is very important to do a gauge swatch before you start. Go up a size in needle if you knit tight and down a size if you knit loose. It is so very disappointing to knit a sweater which turns out to be too big or too small.

4 mm (US 6) and 5 mm (US 8), 40 and 80 cm (16 and 32”) circular needles and 4 mm (US 6) and 5 mm (US 8) DPN’s (or a long circular for magic loop method).

Sólskinspeysan er prjónuð ofan frá og niður. Fyrst er stroffið í hálsmálinu prjónað í hring. Eftir það er berustykkið prjónað með jöfnum útaukningum þannig að lykkjunum fjölgar á sama tíma og sólargeislarnir eru myndaðir með því að færa lykkjur óprjónaðar á milli prjóna. Eftir berustykkið er lykkjum skipt í bol og ermar.

Eins og alltaf er mikilvægt að skoða vel stærðirnar sem eru í boði. Málin sem eru gefin upp segja til um stærðirnar á peysunum sjálfum og ég hvet fólk til að skoða þau frekar en nöfnin á stærðunum. Við erum öll allskonar og stundum föllum við á milli stærða. Yfirvíddin er mikilvægust en hún segir til um málin yfir brjóstkassann. Lengd á ermum og bol er alltaf hægt að breyta og auðvelt er að máta peysuna jafnóðum þar sem hún er prjónuð ofan frá og niður.
