Solstice Shawl is a beautiful, half-circle shawl that comes in a generous size. It is knit top down, in sport weight yarn, in two different colours. It is a perfect accessory to wrap yourself on a cooler day.

This pattern includes both written and charted instructions.

Size: one size; measurements after blocking: approx. 196 cm/ 77” wide,  83 cm/ 32.5” long measured from center top; 

Gauge:  21 sts and  30 rows = 10cm/ 4” in Garter Stitch on 4mm/ US6 needles, measured flat after blocking; gauge is not crucial for this project but it will affect the size of your shawl and the yardage; make sure you have enough yarn to finish your project; 

Yarn: Malabrigo Yarn Arroyo 100% wool; 306 meters (335 yards)/100g (3.53 oz); 4 skeins in Main Color (MC) and 1 skein in Contrast Color (CC). Sample shown was knit in Peggy (MC) and Tranquilo (CC) colorways.

Or: approximately 1071 m/  1171 yards of sport weight yarn in MC and  200 m/ 219 yards of sport weight yarn in CC;


Needles: 4 mm/ US6 circular needles at least 80 cm/ 32” long or needle size to obtain the gauge; 

Other: 2 stitch markers, cable needle, tapestry needle to weave in ends;
