The Somerset Beanie is a warm, watch cap type hat with a unique crown created on the Flexee Loom Links Chunky loom. The hat itself is simple to knit, but the special double decreasing crown construction is most suited to an intermediate loom knitter. This design makes a really cute “+” on the top of the hat and the crown doesn’t “swirl” like so many decreasing crown designs do.

The hat uses approximately 109 yards of a #5 bulky, acrylic/wool blend yarn. The blue hat was made with Buvemu Wooly 75% acrylic/25% wool yarn. The brown hat was made with Lion Brand’s Hue + Me 80% acrylic/20% wool yarn.

This pattern is suitable for an intermediate loom knitter.
