This is a great pattern for the fisher in each of us. The fish vary in height to show movement. The blues move to show the waves of the water. It has a nice effect around the top of the hat, when you look down from above. The brim is long enough to fold over for extra warmth. The mittens have the fish swimming in opposite directions. A you hold your hands one way, they appear to swim towards each other. Turn them and they swim away from each other.

The hat is written as one size. With some work, it can be made larger. As written, the hat fits a circumference of around 21 inches. The depth of the hat is 8.5 inches. This hat was knit using Aran weight yarn. If you use another weight wool (eg. worsted) please check your gauge as it will change the size of the hat. The size of the mittens can also be adjusted. As written, they are 7 inches around and 9.5 inches in length.

Both the hat and mittens are made with stranded knitting and can be made using less than one skein of the main colour. The other colours use far less.

The pattern has not been test knit. Address any questions or feedback to carolasheartstrings@gmail.com or to my username Cbaker259 on Ravelry.
