Something Squirrely
Oh-so-adorable and perfect for kids, this fun, colorful throw designed by Rae Blackledge uses vibrant squares of Willow Daily DK yarn to create a delightful woodland scene.
The motifs are basic granny squares worked in 1, 2, and 3 colors in joined rows, rather than in the round. Colors are dropped and picked up as you work each row, similar to intarsia knitting rather than carried along and worked over as in tapestry crochet. It’s actually much easier to do than in sounds and each of the 4 squares used is written out stitch by stitch in the pattern.
Errata: The yarn requirements shown on the Willow Website are slightly off, I’ve forwarded them the correction. The yarn requirements here are correct.
