Son-in-Law Scarf
As pictured, this took slightly over 50 grams of fingering weight alpaca and was made using a 5 mm hook.
Finished size: 5”x46”
Does not require blocking.
Note: the abbreviation “fsc” in pattern directions means “foundation single crochet”. I did not include instructions for the fsc as there are plenty of those on the internet. If you prefer not to do the fsc, just chain the number of stitches given +1,then single crochet in across, then begin row 1.
This can be made using any weight yarn and a good result can be had as long as the hook used is big for the yarn; ie: 5mm for lace of fingering weight, 8 or 9 mm for worsted weight. This is a perfect scarf for a man, not fancy but with nice texture. It is not difficult, but attention needs to be paid, as it is easy to loose the last stitch on the row.
