Like many people, I adore hand painted yarns, and like many others, I adore large, intricate lace shawls. But it always leaves me singing the blues that so often those two loves just do not work well together. This top-down semi-circle shawl, in four “sizes”, starts with bold petals that give way to an allover, simple lace background that is not obscured by the variations in colors of that special hand-painted yarn. When the lace gives way to an area of plain stocking stitch, that hand painted yarn can really shine.
