A few words from testers: ‘These need a warning label!! Highly Addictive ‘, ’These are like potato chips - can’t knit just one pair. Great for gift knitting!’, ‘I’m planning to make a few for gifts!’, ‘I love the pattern!’, ‘It’s such a sweet pattern!’

Inspired by ornate tapestries and walks in the woods, as well as the yarn kit by Rose Hill Yarns, this project will keep you engaged and excited for the finished project.

Corrugated ribbing at the top and bottom frame the song bird on her perch. A thumb gusset is created by increasing stitches. I’ve included colour charts as well as black, grey, and white charts.

This pattern is written for a ladies medium. Additional sizes can be achieved by using smaller needles or heavier sock yarn. I used 2 colours for these mittens but testers loved adding extra detail in other colours using duplicate stitch.

Yarn used is a kit from Rose Hill Yarns called Songbird. Although the yarn is listed on Ravelry as a light fingering any sock/ fingering yarn can be used.

GAUGE: using US2 (2.75mm) needles, after blocking, over pattern, knit in the round: 34 sts x 38 rounds = 4 inches (10cm)

This pattern has been tech edited by Sigrun Jones and tested by volunteers.
