Sonora
Sonora is knit in one piece from the bottom up to the underarms. The yoke is then worked back and forth and the shoulders bound off using a 3-Needle Bind Off. The sleeves are then picked up and worked in the round.
YARN: The Fibre Co. Savannah (50% wool, 20% cotton, 15% linen + 15% soya; 160 yds/50gm skein): Bluegrass, 5 (7, 8, 9) skeins.
GAUGE: 21.5 sts + 32 rnds = 4” 10 cm in Ribbed Garter Patt on larger needles, after blocking.
NEEDLES: 2 - 24” (60 cm) US 5 (3.75 mm) and 1 - 24” (60 cm) + 16” (40 cm) US 6 (4.25 mm) circular. 1 spare dpn or other needle, US 6 (4.25 mm), for 3-Needle Bind Off.
NOTIONS: 2 stitch markers, stitch holders or smooth waste yarn of comparable gauge, tapestry needle.
SIZE: 35.75 (41.5, 47.5, 53.5)” 91 (105.5, 120.5, 136) cm finished bust. Sweater is designed to be worn with appx. 2” (5 cm) of positive ease. Please see schematic for more detailed finished measurements.
SKILLS: Knitting, purling, picking up stitches, 3-Needle Bind Off.
