Sonoran Sarape
The Sonoran Desert ranges from Mexico northward to central Arizona, and reaches west into California and the Baja Peninsula. It’s vast, hot, and desolate, but there is a lot going on if you look. This garment includes motifs of cacti, bats, lizards, and a stylized setting sun.
Resting easy on the shoulders the sarape adds a layer of warmth against the desert’s winter chill, Color from Jamieson & Smith help create a distinctively southwestern garment.
The Sonoran Sarape uses 27 balls of Jamieson & Smith jumper weight Shetland wool. A kit is available on the Lost City Knits website, or you can purchase the single pattern and choose your own colors.
