Soot and Gold anklet
Now includes crochet symbolcraft!
(Just added: Tips on adapting the pattern to make a necklace)
Taking from the delicate antique needlework found in Isabella Beeton’s “Book of Needlework” (1870), “Soot and Gold” is designed to be a durable, comfortable, all-day-wear anklet with a delicate lacy style.
“Soot” and “Gold” are colors/minerals that ancient and primitive peoples have used for body decorations. I chose these colors to go with beautiful dark bare skin.
And since I am the type who wears anklets all day, I wanted to make an anklet that is durable and comfortable to wear. It should not have any beads, chain links or other hard objects hanging from it. While the ‘s’ hook is relatively comfortable (wear the anklet with the tip of the hook away from your skin), you might wish to use a soft fabric button or a small crocheted button as substitute.
Recommended for Advanced Beginner and Intermediate Level crocheters.
You will need gold embroidery thread, an ‘s’ hook, a sewing needle.
