Soothing Sensory Squares
These soothing squares can be used by any age to help regulate breathing and refocus the mind. From hypnobirthing, teaching toddlers to self-regulate, or even helping with anxious teens, these squares are a silent, tactile item that can discretely be kept in a pocket.
I have suggested materials below, but you can make this with any yarn and hook size - it just depends how big or small a square you wish to create.
This pattern is written in US terminology.
The links are affiliate links and will take you to LoveCrafts. It costs you no extra than buying it normally, but I will make a small amount from the sale if you do purchase any materials through the link.
There is an option to make either a square or a rectangle. The square is used for 4 x 4 breathing, the rectangle is 4 x 8.
You will need either 20g or 40g of Aran weight Cotton yarn. I use a 4.00mm hook but you may wish to use bigger hooks depending on your tension.
