About 200 years ago King George declared Chimney Sweeps to be regarded as Lucky after one calmed his horse after it was spooked by a dog barking. Since then Brides and Grooms have adopted the Lucky Sweep, and it is thought that if one attends your wedding that your marriage will be blessed with good Luck and fertility.

Sooty Lucky Sweep Gonk Gnome will make a unique Wedding gift that will remind the Bride and Groom of their BIG day.

His waist coat and cap are removable and knitted as separates within this pattern . It’s a simple but fun pattern to make. The only slight complicated part is the actual broom which is knitted using two strands of yarn in the Loop stitch. Full instructions are given
in the pattern.

He’s knitted flat using DK yarn and 3mm needles.

I hope you’ll enjoy knitting him as much as I have and that he’ll bring you Joy, Good Luck and Happiness.

Love Mandi x
