This chunky hat is a quick knit, featuring 2 x 2 ribbing that flows seamlessly into and out of a wide band of cables which create a pattern of diagonally crossing lines around the hat.

SIZING: One size - to fit head circumference of approx. 21-22.5”/53-57cm.
Finished hat circumference (unstretched): 18”/46cm
Height of hat: 8”/20cm

TENSION/GAUGE: 4”/10cm = 18 sts and 20 rows over k2 p2 rib on 5.5mm needles

YARN: Approx 100m of chunky yarn - I used one 100g skein of The Craft Firm’s Chunky Alpaca yarn (100% alpaca, 100m/100g).

NEEDLES AND NOTIONS:
Set of 5.5mm double pointed knitting needles (or size to give correct tension)
Cable needle
Darning needle
