Soria Shawl
Soria is a curved semi-circular shawl based on Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Half-Pi Shawl.
The simple lace pattern is only 4 rows but repeats to great effect. The shawl then is finished with a ruffle of over 1000 sts. Don’t let that number intimidate you, though - it’s great TV knitting.
The top edge of the shawl has enough leeway to be blocked in a shallow or deep curve depending on your preference. Instructions are provided for larger and smaller sizes.
My thanks to testers contemax and ayala120!

The name of this shawl comes from the series of poems “Campos de Soria” by Antonio Machado.
…tardes de Soria, mística y guerrera,
hoy siento por vosotros, en el fondo
del corazón, tristeza,
tristeza que es amor! Campos de Soria…
…twilights of Soria, warlike and mystical,
today I feel, for you,
in my hearts depths, sadness,
sadness of love! Fields of Soria…
Soria is part of my series The Cloths of Heaven, inspired by some of my favourite poems and poets.
