Theeey’re heeere! Introducing SoS Alien Invasion, a collection of out-of-this-world patterns for mosaic crochet. Compatible for mix & match with our SoS Wild West collection (also available in our store) ~ Cowboys & Aliens, anybody? With these patterns, you can construct epic blankets and throws, pillow covers, wall-hangings, just about anything your twisted mind can imagine.

All patterns within the collection are 36 stitches wide - with a collection of taller designs at 31 stitches in height, and a collection of narrower designs (which we call “repeaters”) at varying heights. This allows you to mix and match and create your own stories when you assemble your creation - you’ll notice in our sample that we’ve mixed both small and large patterns in our sections. The invasion scene from the buildings to the sky is constructed from a set of designs provided to be used together. We’ve also included instructions for replicating our sample blanket (which measures roughly 36” x 64”) or for extending your scene wider than we show in our sample.

These are overlay mosaic crochet patterns, bottom-up, chart only. They require a basic understanding of mosaic crochet technique. We learned from this video, which should get anyone up and running quickly:

Some notes:

Our colors are just a guide (and are generally comprised of what we have laying around), so go wild picking out the perfect color palettes to match your decor or whim! These are the yarns used in our sample, all medium weight worked with an H hook:

Red Heart Super Saver, Black - approx. 4.5 skeins
Craft Smart, Orange - approx. 1.25 skeins
Red Heart Super Saver, Turqua - approx. .5 skeins
Red Heart Super Saver, Amethyst - 1 skein
Craft Smart, Neon Pink - 1.5 skeins
Red Heart Super Saver, Melon - 1 skein
