For you cool cats (or those with cool cats in your lives), we present our SoS Icon series of patterns representing cultural icons that we, our friends and like-minded people find cool or identify with.

SoS Icon Misfit features the instantly-recognizable mascot if the horror-punk band The Misfits. When someone sees this in your home, you’ll get instant badss cred!

The uses for this pattern are many - we ourselves intend to use these as one side of a 20” throw pillow. As such it can be backed with a duplicate or another pattern in our Icon series and sewn around a pillow form. Or it could be repeated or used with another pattern for a blanket pattern. It is designed as a single tile, but like ourselves, we realize that a lot of makers will incorporate it into their own ideas and find unique uses for it.

We used Red Heart Super Saver medium weight yarn with a H sized hook for the sample, but you can use any weight/hook combination you wish. Our sample is roughly 22.5 inches wide by 23 inches tall, but your mileage may vary.

Also Note: In our sample, we started with a chain row plus 2 rows of backloop-only single crochet to form a foundation before applying the pattern.
