Whiteowlcrochetco. Sound Sweater
Sound is an oversized drop shoulder sweater, designed with a cozy afternoon in mind: sitting by a nice fire, wearing your favourite comfy leggings, listening to a great playlist, and knitting your current project. As if the sound waves of your favourite song travelled through your body from your ears to your hands, the purl pattern in the bust of the sweater mimics the rarefaction and compression of a sound wave.
This pattern is worked from the bottom up; the hem, body, collar, and sleeves are worked in the round while the top of the bust is worked flat in rows. The hem, wristbands, and collar are worked in 2x2 rib with a smaller needle, the sleeves and part of the body are worked in stockinette, and the bust is worked in a density wave of purl stitches. Interestingly, the only places you will bind off are the finishing rounds of the wristbands and the collar - all transitions between body and sleeves/collar are worked from stitches held on stitch holders/yarn.
