This pattern is written in English, in US Terms and only three stitches are needed, (chain, single crochet and popcorn) and the pattern has picture directions for the popcorn stitch.

The one pictured was made in DK ( 190–300 yards per 100 grams, depending on brand) on a 4mm hook, it measures 33 x 31 inches and took roughly 450g Gauge is not important, You can use any weight yarn for this blanket, just be sure to used the hook size recommended by the yarn manufacturer.
