South Beach is a wide triangular-shaped shawl featuring squishy garter and stocking stitch stripes.

Knitted from the top down with fingering weight yarn, just choose some happy colours and cast on!

Yarn
Approximately 672 yards/614.5 metres of fingering weight yarn:
MC 420 yards/384 metres;
CC1 210 yards/192 metres;
CC2 42 yards/38.5 metres.

The sample is shown in MC and CC1: Madelinetosh Feather (80% Merino Wool, 10% Alpaca, 10% Nylon; 437 yards/400 metres per skein) - MC Plunge, 1 skein, CC1 Silver Fox, 1 skein;
CC2: Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light (100% Merino Wool; 437 yards/400 metres per skein) - Prairie Fire, 1 mini-skein.

Needles & Notions
US 6 / 4 mm circular needles, 32 inches/80 cm or longer, to accommodate the large number of stitches; 2-3 stitch markers; yarn needle or crochet hook to weave in ends.

Gauge
18 stitches and 34 rows per 4 inches/10 cm in garter stitch after blocking. Gauge is not crucial but a different gauge will alter the finished size, drape and amount of yarn required.
