South Carolina Gamecock
This gamecock was made with the South Carolina Gamecock mascot in mind. I used Loops & Threads Impeccable yarn (listed as Medium 4); very little red is needed, even less of the other colors.
I took notes as I developed the pattern and captured almost everything I did. I hope you are able to follow along. I included some simple charts to help walk through the pattern.
I used a size G hook but imagine you could vary that and the yarn to achieve a different sized mascot. My finished project was about 8 3/4” tall with a 7” arm spread.
Shirt is optional, but if you choose to make one, I recommend using knitting needles if you try adding lettering. Crochet stitches don’t line up as perfectly as knitted stitches. I included notes on how I would recommend improving the design; I haven’t tired the adjustments myself.
Please let me know if you have any questions or see any mistakes in the pattern. Enjoy.
