South End Mittens
by Liz Washburn
These mittens are made with a cabled ribbing around the wrists and a fairly easy-to-do lace pattern for the body. They are intentionally created to be long--roughly 10 1/2 inches. I used less than one skein of Madeline Tosh Merino DK yarn to knit both of them. I made these one size fits all, and I think they will work for most women. You can use double-pointed needles or circulars and the magic loop method. I used dpns for the ribbing and a circular needle for the remainder.
