Southern Star
My family moved from New York to Sydney in the middle of 2019. While my husband and daughter were born in the USA, for me it was a return home. I wanted to make something special for my baby girl to commemorate the trip, and the Southern Star was born.
I wanted a blanket that could double as a play mat so I took some inspiration from the hexagonal play mat she’s had since she was born, but ended up with more of a star shape. I also wanted to make the blanket in a variety of colours, and I figured it would be nice to have each colour be a different stitch - much like a traditional sampler.
The colours were picked out in collaboration with the wonderful Claire of Autumn and Indigo. You can either get the kits Claire’s put together or go to town with your own colour combinations.
The pattern comes with both Australian (metric) and US (imperial) sizes and measurements. When you purchase you’ll receive the pattern instantly as a PDF download. I love getting questions and feedback from my customers, you can find all my contact details at the end of the pattern.
