This was my first attempt at writing a pattern. I made this poncho and worn it at Unwind Dunedin. I had so many people who loved it and asked me for the pattern so i wrote the instructions on my newly started blog. You can still find it there, step by step. https://imperfecttwists.wordpress.com/
However i decided to give it a bit of a lift and adjustments and convert it in a pdf so it can be easily printed.
I have made small changes - garter border and selvedge - you’ll achieve the same results in knitting each row rather than purling, as per my original.

This may be the easiest lace poncho you could ever make. Lace is achieved through working k2tog, yo. We’ll introduce beads on every second section of lace.
Final size is 65cm wide x 170 cm long. However this can be easily modified.
You can leave it open as a wrap or fold and seam as I did.
Gauge is not essential however you need to aim for a very drapey look. I used 4.5mm needles but if you are on a firm gauge you could use bigger needles (1-2 sizes bigger).
You could use circulars or straights if you dont’ mind the stitches bunched together.
Choose a bold colour if you want to stand out!

Enjoy!
