Southwest Mosaic Crochet Square: Saguaro cacti
This pattern is for an overlay mosaic crochet square that can be used in other types of projects, such as blankets, pillows, satchel bags, table mats, etc.
Any yarn or hook will work, depending on the desired size of the finished square. I used yarn weight of 4 with a 5.5 hook, which creates a square of 13.5” x 13”.
This project takes approx 4 oz of yarn. The background in the sample was done with 5 colors, around .2 oz of each color. The cacti take approx 1.5 oz & the skull can be done with a few yards of scrap yarn. This is a great way to use up scraps!
Optional: add some white French knots for the cactus needles, or in pink for cactus flowers!
Pattern is in US crochet terms.
