This woven appearance is created by a series of overlappingcable stitches. The ribbed brim is deliberately loose so it can be folded over or pulled down low against the weather. The pattern looks complicated
but once you get started, it gets easier as it is repeated
throughout the whole hat. I used a merino/possum blend
which has a slight tweed look and felted the hat lightly once
completed.
