Sowing Love
This cowl is a quick and easy project, perfect for everyone on your knitted gift list.
A beginner-friendly knitting pattern of alternating knit and purl stitches make this a very textural knit. For a more masculine look, choose a simple wooden button or just attach the two ends without a button.
Yarn: Lion Brand Yarn, Hometown, 64 yards (59 meters) per 4 oz (113 g) skein. The sample is shown in Aspen Tweed (cream), Riverdale Tweed (green), and Salem Creek (gray/pink). Alternatively, use any super bulky yarn or 2 strands of a heavy worsted held together.
Needles: US 17 (12 mm) straight or circular as preferred, or size needed to obtain gauge.
Notions: Yarn needle to weave in ends; scissors; 3 mm decorative button.
Gauge: 7 sts and 11.5 rows = 4” (10 cm) in seed st pattern blocked with US 17 (12 mm) needles or size needed to obtain gauge. Gauge isn’t critical but may result in a larger or smaller finished piece.
Finished Size: Approximately 7.25” (18.5 cm) wide and 25” (63.5 cm) long.
