This pattern, i.e. the instructions for making the socks shown in these photos, is only in video format. The narration language of the video is Finnish, and the video includes English subtitles written by me (you may need to activate the subtitles in the video settings). The main idea is to use a variagated yarn with short but regular colour segments; however, you may first have opted to make a solid cuff in another yarn. Divide your multicoloured skein into three separate balls, find matching spots in the colour sequence in each ball and start the leg knitting helically with all three yarns so that you end up getting three rows on top of each other with the same colour segment and the colour changes occuring in more or less the same place on all three rows (these are what I call colour bars on the video). Use the solid yarn for the heel, then pick up with creating colour bars for the foot. It’s your choice whether you want your toes solid or multicoloured.

Ideana on jakaa Nalle Taika- tai vastaava säännöllisen monivärinen lankakerä kolmeen osaan, etsiä värijaksosta toisiaan vastaavat kohdat ja neuloa kolmen kerroksen spiraalia niin, että värit kohdistuvat kolmen kerroksen korkuisiksi “palkeiksi”. Sukansuu ja kantapää, halutessasi varpaatkin, kannattaa neuloa yksivärisellä langalla.
