A crochet pattern with easy stitches and repetitive rows.

This pattern was inspired by the texture of a classic cactus with the relief ribbing in straight rows. Sometimes cacti bloom and I wanted to have that complements to the main pattern, a sort of blooming edge to it.

Why “space” in Space cactus? Well, there’s space in between the stitches, but the word can also double as space in “outer space”, which gives it a much more playful twist to the name!

Yarn choice & shawl size
I made mine with Drops yarn Baby Merino Mix, color Sage (sport weight, 50 g & 175 m per skein), just over 4 skeins. This means just under 600 meters in total with a 5.5 mm hook (I / 9 hook).
Depending on the number of repeats you make, the yardage and shawl size can vary!

Measurements after blocking:
Tip to base: 157 cm / 62 inches
Bas (top side): 85 cm / 33.5 inches
Diagonal: 181 cm / 71 inches

Unisex pattern
US crochet terms. Wearable for both men, women, teens, kids and everyone else too! Unisex design and with different yarn choices the ways to vary are endless!
