This little book is a great introduction to space exploration! The book has 6 pages and a front and back cover. Each of the 6 pages has a moving/tactile component to lift/move/spin. The pattern includes written instructions for every component and photos showing the assembly process.

Materials Required

• 3.5 mm crochet hook
• Tapestry needle
• DK yarn in black, dark grey, light grey, white, sky blue, royal blue, red, grass green, orange, yellow, brown, gold, purple. You’ll need approximately 100 grams of black, 20g of light blue and light grey and <10g of each of the other colours. You could easily substitute alternative colours for the flaps and planets, making this a good stashbuster!

Sizing

Gauge is not particularly important for this pattern, as long as you’re consistent. The whole book is crocheted with the same size hook. I used a 3.5mm hook and DK yarn, and the pages (26 rows of 30 hdc stitches) were 12cm x 12cm (5” x 5”). The finished book was 5cm (2”) deep.
