Space Jammin' the bubble butt astronaut
This little bubble butt astronaut just wants to hang out on a quiet moon and listen to some music…
This is a fully tested, intermediate level pattern written in US terms. The pattern is 21 pages and full of pictures to help you out as you go. Your astronaut will be about 4.5” tall when made with medium weight yarn.
For the visor you can use either a ball or there are instructions to make a crocheted visor. I used bouncy balls in my examples. The feet and arms will be worked in as you make the body and then the head will be made separately and sewn on. If you add magnets to the hands and walkman, as well as wire in the headphones, then they will be removable. You may choose to sew them on instead though.
Supplies needed:
-Medium weight yarn in main color and accent colors for headphones and walkman (and visor if not using ball)
-3.5mm hook (or preferred hook size for amigurumi)
-1.75”(45mm) - 2” bouncy ball, stress ball or ball of your choice! (Not needed if you opt for a crochet visor)
-Fiberfill stuffing
-Weight material - I use small, decorative pebbles but beans, glass gems, or similar materials will work
-Small scrap of cardboard for base (we’ll cut a circle about 1.5”-2” across)
-Optional: wire for removable headphones. I used 1mm (about 18g) bonsai training wire but a little thinner or thicker wire is fine too. Bonsai wire is easier to bend and shape but not required.
-Optional: magnets for hands and walkman. I used these 10/3mm -Neodymium round magnets: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BVY5VYQY/
-Tapestry needle
-Stitch markers
