This project is a great way to learn or practice working with beads and lace. It begins with pre-strung beads that create a small swag at the bottom. The sparkly diamonds are made by placing beads vertically on completed stitches, as opposed to the horizontal placement of the swag beads.

Knowledge of basic knitted lace is important, so that you can focus on working the the beads. Basic stitches such as Knit, Purl, YO, K2tog, and SSk are used. A central decrease (sl1, k2tog,psso) is also used.

It can be made longer by adding more repeats of the lace pattern (with or without beads) or wider by increasing the number of stitches by multiples of 6 stitches.
