Sparkling hat
This is a simple hat, with big earflaps. It is not a full tutorial, since I wrote it down mainly to remember how I made it. But if it can be of some help or inspiration for someone else, I’m happy.
I made this for my girl, but she has a pretty large head. This hat easily fits me.
To alter the size, or if you have the wrong gauge, you could switch needles or compare your gauge with the circumference you want. I can help you with the math if that is a problem. :)
I used a thin yarn with sequins that is usualy used as a bulky yarn. That is why I had no yarn recommendations - I don’t know what to call it! I also used a few meters of wool yarn in matching colors to fill out braids and ball on top. I used an old t-shirt for the lining. You could also use fleece, or a fabric of your choice. If you don’t want to line it, you should probably start with some ribbing or garter stitch, to keep the edges from curling up.
I used two different colors, so I had two balls (132 m each) but used less than one. You might need more depending on gauge, or how you chose to make braids and ball.
