Sparks
If you purchase 5 of my self-published designs at the same time (they need to be in the same cart), you will get the least expensive for free!
Tuck your hands into these toasty mitts for the ultimate in stylish warmth. Worked in a two-color brioche “tuck stitch”, they are stretchy and beautifully form fitting, while the speckled gradient contrast yarn fades to pale and practically shoots off sparks of electrifying color.
Size
One size: to fit medium size adult hands.
Finished palm circumference: 15.5 cm/6.25”, unstretched.
Length: 23.5 cm/9.25”.
Yarn
1 skein of Merino Superwash 4-ply by Old Maiden Aunt (100% merino; 400m/440y per 100g). Shown in colorway Dreich.
1 set of Dreamies by EasyKnits.co.uk (75% merino, 25% nylon, 5 x 80m/93y per 20g). Shown in colorway Bloom on Pink.
This amount of yarn will make two pairs of mitts.
Needles
2.25 mm/US #1 circular needle (60 cm / 24” long) for magic-loop or dpns.
Other
3 stitch markers, stitch holder or waste yarn, tapestry needle for weaving.
Gauge
36 sts and 64 rnds = 10 cm/4” in single tuck stitch pattern worked in the rnd, after wet blocking, unstretched.
Take time to save time - check your gauge. If necessary, adjust needle size to obtain the correct gauge.
The last photo shows WS and since I put the right mitt on my LH and vice versa, you can also see how “visible” the change in yarn color is ;)
