Sparky the Budgie Parakeet
Who’s a pretty boy then? Sparky and Coco are! Sparky is blue, Coco is green, and they are both 23cm tall friendly knitted budgies, that you can knit from my 8 page PDF knitting pattern!
They are knitted flat using 4mm needles, and your knitting pattern includes detailed knitting and making-up instructions, with colour photos to help you on your way. I’ve included a tutorial on making wire legs, which is useful for any kind of knitted bird that you’re making, not just the budgies!
I like to use Stylecraft Special DK to make these feathery friends - all of the shades that you will need are listed in the pattern, but you can use any DK yarn that you have in your stash. You’ll also need 2 ply black yarn, some craft wire for the legs, 2 x 4mm black beads and a pipe cleaner.
