Sparrow Shawl Crochet Pattern

Sample charts of each stitch combination are included, but there is no chart for the whole project. Row-by-row written instructions are provided with supplemental drawings and crochet charts.

Sparrow is a crochet scarf/shawl with a geometric theme, made with Hobbii Twister yarn cake(s) and a 3.5 mm crochet hook. The shawl consists of a contrasting edge framing alternating semi-lacy bands of zig-zagging post stitches and shells. Finished object is roughly 32x62”, and uses nearly all of a Hobbii Twister cake, or 2.5 Twister Solid cakes. This pattern includes both a chart and written line-by-line instructions. Pattern created with Stitch Fiddle Software.

Examples shown were made with:
Two cakes Twister Solid colour 127 (medium blue) plus half a cake of colour 121 (navy) for contrast edge.

One Twister cake (grey, blues, navy), colour 17, working from both ends of the cake simultaneously to create the contrasting edge. Shown this page.

If you are a relaxed/loose crocheter, one Twister may not be enough to finish the project. You may wish to have a complementary Twister Solid on hand if this is the case.

Materials:

  • 3.5 mm hook
  • one cake of Hobbii Twister (or similar #2 1000m), OR two and a half cakes of Twister Solid (only half a cake is required for the contrast edge colour)
  • Finishing needle
